Say Goodbye to Love Handles With Surgery-Free CoolSculpting®️

While there’s a time and place for cosmetic surgery, did you know that it is possible to get rid of love handles without going under the knife? At DiGeronimo MD Advanced Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida, we’ve perfected the art of helping you eliminate fat in problem areas such as love handles as well as your thighs, upper arms, and belly through a noninvasive technique known as CoolSculpting®️.

Are love handles really a big problem?

Abdominal obesity poses health challenges that may lead to high blood sugar, increased insulin levels, and an elevated risk of heart attack and stroke. Many people see love handles as just a little extra fat around the waist, but, sadly, it’s not so simple. This excess fat accumulation can aggravate metabolic diseases such as diabetes and cancer and therefore needs to be taken seriously.

What exactly is CoolSculpting?

Many people with love handles are typically within their normal body weight range but can’t seem to lose the stubborn fat around their abdominal area. This is where noninvasive fat-busting techniques like CoolSculpting come into play.

CoolSculpting is a specialized alternative to liposuction and other fat-eliminating surgery — it involves the freezing of those fat cells, destroying them for good, without a single incision. This technique doesn’t require you to be under any anesthesia, schedule time off from work for the procedure or recovery, or come back for removal of stitches. This simple, in-office procedure lasts around 30-60 minutes per session.

Is CoolSculpting painful?

Unlike traditional surgery, CoolSculpting is a painless process. You notice the cold from the handset as it’s initially placed on the areas targeted for fat freezing, but this slight discomfort soon fades, and you shouldn’t experience any pain during this procedure or afterward.

Cryolipolysis — fat freezing — destroys the fat that sits under your skin in those hard-to-tone areas like love handles. CoolSculpting freezes the fat cells so they cannot survive, and your body gradually eliminates them naturally, giving you a slimmer shape.

CoolSculpting has little to no associated risks because there’s no cutting involved. You don’t have to deal with stitches, suffer painful injections, or be at risk of infections. This process is as safe as they come.

When can I see results?

Don’t expect results immediately. We encourage our clients to wait until their third week after treatment before taking measurements for comparison. If you can wait a little bit longer, the second month following treatment is when you notice the most change.

If you maintain a healthy lifestyle, you reap optimal results. Results are permanent so long as you don’t put on excessive weight. While the fat cells destroyed by CoolSculpting don’t come back, your body’s remaining fat cells can still grow larger.
